Ottershaw is a village between Chertsey and Woking, set among heathland, woodland and the remnants of the old Ottershaw Park estate. The mix of mature trees, overgrown areas and open land around the village gives pests plenty of places to thrive. Rats are common along the lanes and tracks that link the village to the surrounding countryside and properties on the edges of Ottershaw tend to see the most activity. The old estate grounds, now partly used by the college campus, provide cover and food for rats and squirrels alike.
